Riding racehorses is a hazardous occupation. Hundreds of jockeys get injured, miss important races and the chance to earn extra prize money each year. And with many jockeys earning peanuts compared to, say, Premier League footballers, some might have noticed that their pay checks aren’t equal to the risk involved – leaving them feeling a little jocked off.
