J: Olivier Peslier

T: Roger Varian

Easy winner of a small-field Class 4 handicap at Redcar in June (5f, good) off 5lb lower; could manage only fifth of six in a Class 2 at Pontefract (5f, good to soft) three weeks ago, albeit not beaten far; return to 6f needs to spark something extra from him.

Showed promise in his qualifying runs and took it up another notch when stepped up to 1m4f for his handicap debut at Doncaster (soft) three weeks ago, getting on top towards the finish with the front two 7l clear; 5lb rise looks manageable with further progress likely; Richard Fahey teamed up with Olivier Peslier to win this race in 2014.

Won at Haydock (7f, good) in April; possibly unsuited by soft going in the Victoria Cup here in May and never able to get beyond mid-division in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) four weeks ago but he did stick to his task; return to 1m (last five runs were 7f) is more than plausible and he could be interesting.

Youthful King

9st 6lb

T: Luke Dace

His two runs on softer than good were early in career and he was withdrawn when the ground was good to soft here two weeks ago; four wins on good to firm, including when he comfortably made all twice at Windsor this summer; latest came when upped to 11.4f six weeks ago and he did it in good style; not bred for this far but same could be said of his other turf wins; improving 4yo who needs a close look despite going up another 7lb.
