The prominent racers never came back to the field in the Don’t Retire Without My Pension Expert Handicap Chase at Carlisle on November 19th, with Walk On Quest (“pressed leader early, in touch with leaders after 2nd”) getting the better of Fearless Action (“led, headed before 2nd, soon prominent”) in the 2m contest. Martin Todhunter’s TOMMY COMBATS (“towards rear”) did well to finish less than ten lengths back in fourth place when making his chase debut and today’s softer going will help. The five-year-old remains a maiden but has only had six runs and is worth a small interest to get off the mark.
