How the ITV7 Works

The ITV7 is very simple, you have to pick a selection in each of the seven selected races across Friday’s races and if they all win then you can win a share of the huge jackpot. The free-to-play game offers you the chance to win enormous prizes, so why not check out our explainer article that tells you all you need to know.

Race 1 – 1.30 Cheltenham (Triumph Hurdle)

With Nicky Henderson’s Sir Gino declared a non runner on Thursday morning, as the Seven Barrows team continuing to find things wrong with their runners then it’s a Triumph Hurdle that has been blown open. It’s worth looking at the Irish contenders and the Willie Mullins-trained MAJBOROUGH looks to be a real star of the future and while his career looks to be over further he oozes class and was last seen finishing a fine second in the Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown and he’s the one to be with here.

Race 2 – 2.10 Cheltenham County Hurdle

Second behind Faivoir in this race 12 months ago, PIED PIPER is looking to finally get his head in front in a Cheltenham Festival race having previously finished third in the Triumph Hurdle and he can go close here. He will have top weight for this event, but is only 2lbs higher than last year’s mark, so if he can shine once again at the track then he has to be a huge player in what is one of the toughest betting conundrums of the entire week.

Race 3 – 2.50 Cheltenham (Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle)

Unbeaten in all three starts over hurdles, Harry Fry’s GIDLEIGH PARK has been a hugely progressive performer this season and was last seen winning a Grade 2 contest at Cheltenham over 2m 4f 56y back in January. Connections have opted for this 3m contest over Wednesday’s Baring Bingham and he has shaped like he’s all about stamina and it’s hard to not see him play a starring role. There’s obviously a strong Irish contingent with Readin Tommy Wrong the standout, but Gidleigh Park can land the prize for the UK.

Race 4 – 3.05 Fakenham

Gary Moore’s SANGIOVESE has shown notable improvement since switching to the handicap sphere and having won his first outing in handicaps off a mark of 89 at Southwell he then finished second off 96 last time out at Fontwell. He will need to continue his improvement in this contest, as he’s been given another 5lbs rise, but a mark of 101 still looks workable and he’s the selection in a mediocre event.

Race 5 – 3.30 Cheltenham (Cheltenham Gold Cup)

Race five is the showpiece race of the entire Cheltenham Festival, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, and it’s the race that should see GALOPIN DES CHAMPS duly retain his crown by outclassing his rivals for a second year on the bounce. A fine seven-length winner over Bravemansgame in last year’s race, the Willie Mullins-trained superstar showed when cruising to victory in the Irish Gold Cup last month that he’s still the premier staying chaser in the UK & Ireland and he looks to be a cut above his rivals yet again here.

Race 6 – 3.45 Fakenham

Moderate on the Flat, Donald McCain’s WEIGH ANCHOR has shown a glimmer of hope over hurdles and put in his best run last time out when second at Wetherby. The four-year-old daughter of Nathaniel now ventures into the handicap arena and a mark of 93 looks more than attractive and she can land this prize with aplomb.

Race 7 – 4.10 Cheltenham (St. James’s Place Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters’ Chase)

We end the ITV7 with the Hunters’ Chase, which is the amateurs’ Gold Cup and it looks a competitive contest in 2024. Former winner BILLAWAY may be in the twilight of his career as a 12-year-old, but he has shown he can deliver the goods in this race and he will have been targeted for this race all campaign and he could well be staying on the best in the closing stages.
