POPPA POUTINE (2:45pm Wincanton)
Runner-up over points early in his career, before a couple of useful performance under rules. This Nigel Twiston-Davies' runner picked up a maiden win at Southwell (3m, good to soft) in December of last year, beating Heavey by 1.5 lenghs, before picking up another win in the latest at Catterick (2m 1f, soft) in a handicap hurdle back in March, when a length clerar of Aheadfullofdreams.
Makes chase debut in this contest, with the extenstion tio this 3m 3f trip likely to suit, having looked to have more in the tank over previous contests and is given weight by all but one of the field. Strong claims and in with a big say, if transferring to fences without to much grief.
GETALEAD (3:20pm Wincanton)
Eight race maiden, who makes second appearance for Claire Harris. This gelding has picked up some solid results so far, including a second at Perth (2m, good) back in September of 2020, when just a head behind Restandbethankful in a bumper contest for Ella Pickard.
His last run for Pickard, saw them pick upa fourth of ten at Exeter (2m, good) in a hurdle contest and it was a strong return, when second at Ludlow (1m 7f, good) on debut for the Harris yard, with See The Sea a runaway winner by 16 lengths eighteen days ago. Extended trip should suit here and will have a fitness advantage for that run. Strong claims here and should be a big player.
REE OKKA (3:35pm Aintree)
Winner over points in Ireland and makes his rules debut here. This Getaway gelding out of Presenteea, was bought for 60,000Eur as a 3-yo.
Dam is an unraced half-sister to Liverpool Hurdle winner, Identity Thief, so plenty of pedigree, especially arounf Aintree. Interesting to see how he performs, but oplenty to like on paper and Harry Fry doesn't jjust throw his newcomers into action.
MORNING SPIRIT (4:45pm Aintree)
One win and six places in twelve career starts, with that victory coming at the ninth time of asking at Ascot (2m 7f, heavy) back in December of last year. Ran three times since, with the latest, a second at Ffos Las (2m 7f, good to soft), seeing them miss out by just a neck to Geordie Des Champs in a proper battle between the two.
Makes chase debut in this contest and on recent form, looks to have claims here, especially with trainer Jonjo O;Neill also in good form of late.
