BANNISTER (1:38 Worcester)
Strong performer over hurdles last season, when picking up a second at Stratford (2m, good), before grabbing a maiden victory at Southwell (1m 7f, good) thirteen months ago, in a juvenile hurdle, romping to a 20 length win. Was pulled up on only start this year, at Chepstow back in January and comes into this chase debut and seasonal return with a little to prove. Has been given a decent mark here and Tom George’s charge should be in the fight for the spoils, if able to find previous form.
EXOD’ELA (2:13pm Worcester)
Useful hurdler, who has rarely finished outside the first three, but only managing the single victory to date, back in February of 2020 (2m 5f, soft) in a Class 3 contest. Jamie Snowden’s charge had found it tough going last season, with the handicapper being quite unforgiving, but he still managed he did manage a second (of four) at Bangor (2m 7f, heavy) back in December.
He returns for a first start since April of this year and looks to have finally got into the handicappers good books here, ahead of his chase debut and seasonal reappearance. A very capable performer and one who can thrive, if the ground softens as expected.
GUGUSS COLLONGES (3:40pm Fontwell)
Seven race maiden, who has tended to show his best form, when racing on softer conditions.placing fourth at Plumpton (2m 4f, soft) back in December of last year and when fourth at Wincanton (1m 7f, heavy_ back in February.
His last outing wasn’t a true reflection of his abilities, when last of eight here at Fontwell (2m 3f, good) back in May, when badly hampered in the home turn and failing to get back involved. Expect a much better run this time around, while the step back up to 2m 5f will only encourage his chances further still.
ALBERIC (4:15pm Fontwell)
Seven race maiden, who has placed twice in the last two starts, finishing third at Ffos Las (2m 4f, good to soft) in May, before returning to action thirteen days ago at Worcester (2m 4f, good to soft) and finishing third again, albeit some 10 plus lengths adrift of the winner, Jesuitique on yard debut for Philip Hobbs. Expect further improvement here, while the drop in class puts them right in the frame for victory.
