NAP: Phantasy Mac – 3.40pm Wolverhampton (5/4 Generally)

George Boughey has enjoyed another fine season to date which has included guiding Phantasy Mac to three wins from five starts. She went down to a higher rated rival last time, finishing third overall but can make amends here.

The drop back in trip here should really suite as it looks to be her optimum distance. She’s already a course and distance winner so we know the surface won’t be a problem either. She should take a bit of stopping in a race where she only faces two serious rivals in Glorious Peaches and Cromarty.

Today’s Racecards

Fragrance – 2.30 Lingfield (11/4 generally)

Lufu- 3.10 Wolverhampton (11/4 generally)

On paper this looks a battle between the top two in the market, Borough and Fragrance. We’re plumping for the latter who has been equipping herself well in better company so far in her early career. She was second last time out to New Hope Bullet who has since gone on to win again. She is also more experienced than many of these and can make that count here and get in the Winner’s circle.

Lufu was doing her best work at the very end last time out when finishing 2nd in a similar event at Lingfield. She’ll no much more this time around and can go one better. She was keen that day early and took her time to get going.

It was too late in the day at that point and hopefully she won’t be as green on her third start. She is in good hands with William Buick and can get her head in front this time.

Prince Rock – 3.30 Lingfield (7/1 generally)

Prince Rock is now just 2lb higher than his last winning mark and ran encouragingly enough last time to suggest he might be capable of winning a race like this.

He’s gone close in similar events, beaten a head here in April and should be thereabouts now fully wound up. Tom Marquand is an extremely eye-catching booking for Jim Goldie who knows how to get one ready. He’ll need a bit of running with his hold up style so hopefully he can find his way through and be there at the business end.
