Race 1 (1:05pm) HOLLOW GAMES
Winner of his opening four races including the Grade 3 – Monksfield Hurdle at Navan (2m 4f, good) back in November, when 2.25 lengths clear of Lunar Display. He found it tougher going in his latest, when third in the Grade 1 – Lawlor’s Of Naas Hurdle (2m 4f, soft), finishing 4.5 lengths adrift of stablemate, Ginto but was far from disgraced that day. The extended trip to 2m 6f looks idea and he can bounce back in style here.
Race 2 (1:35pm) VAUBAN
Strong flat performer in France, winning his final two races across the Channel, before making the switch to the WIllie Mullins yard. He made a strong start to his hurdling career, with a second, behind useful stablemate Pied Piper in a Juvenile contest at Punchestown (1m 7f, heavy) on New Years Eve, finishing half a length behind. Further progress is expected here and looks to be in a straight fight with Fil Dor for the win.
Race 3 (2:10pm) RIVIERE D’ETEL
Another of Gordon Elliott’s runners, with strong form behind her, coming into this contest, with wins in a Grade 2 – Novice Chase at Punchestown (2m, yielding) in November, when an impressive 21 lengths clear, before sealing a hat-trick at Navan (2m 1f, yielding) in another Grade 3 Novice Chase, beating Take All by 12 lengths. He impressed when second in the Grade 1 – Racing Post Novices Chase, behind odds on favourite Ferny Hollow, with the pair some 14 lengths clear of the rest. She comes into this contest bang in form and receives weight all around to further boost her chances.
Race 4 (2:45pm) PRIORY PARK
Edward O’Grady’s runner was a five race maiden, before striking in a handicap hurdle at Thurles (2m 4f, good to yielding), when three quarters of a length ahead of Neil’s Well. The Mare clearly got the taste for victory that day and followed up with a win last time out at The Placepot bet offers a chance for punters to win big on multiples, with relatively small Leopardstown (2m 4f, soft) at the end of December, when 1.25 lengths clear of Nazine. In superb form and has more to come, although the 10lbs rise may just temper expectations for some.
Race 5 (3:15pm) MINELLA INDO
This Irish Gold Cup may be set as a battle between Frodon and Kemboy, but Minella Indo can poke his nose in here, if able to return to the sort of form that saw him when the Cheltenham Gold Cup last March, when 1.35 lengths clear of A Plus Tard. A third in the Champion Chase at Downpatrick (3m, soft) back in October, saw them 5 lengths adrift of Frodon on the day and then he was pulled up in the King George on Boxing Day, It may not bode well, that form, but a change of rider in Robbie Power, may just see a change in fortune.
Race 6 (3:50pm) BATCIO
Five time winner in thirty starts, with the latest of those, coming back in August at [Killarney](https://gg.co.uk/racing/21-aug-2021/killarney-16350 (2m 4f, good), when 3 lengths clear of The West’s Awake. He finished a decent fourth of twelve in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse, four weeks ago and is only raised 3lbs for this contest, which on the whole looks a lesser contest. Decent claims and could take the spoils.
