Every day, we’re going to be bringing you our lay of the day, in the hope of taking advantage of this FANTASTIC WELCOME OFFER, with Friday's selection racing in the 6:30pm Dundalk, a 1m 2f maiden, hosting fifteen runners.

The Lay Of The Day

TOWER OF PISA goes in as favourite for the contest, with this filly out of Golden Horn, costing the princely sum of €200,000 as a yearling. She showed promise on debut, when fourth over a mile here, although struggled for pace somewhat, with the extension to today’s 1m 2f, expected to aide her chances further. Likely to improve and be in the mix here, but there are a few others, who look capable of usuping the favourite this evening.

The Reasons

There are arguably three runners that standout as genuine challengers to Tower Of Pisa, with Quamino an interesting prospect, having never raced on the flat previously. This four time winner over hurdles and rated 134 over fences, this Paul Nolan ride has an opportunity in this weak contest. Speed is key of course and it won’t be until he starts that we get a solid idea of his capabilities, but the trainer obviously likes his chance.

Kushkame impressed with a debut second, over a mile at Dundalk back in March, but has not be able to find similar runs in two handicap starts this Winter. AJ Slattery returns to ride, with a 3lbs claim and a return to maiden company may just push him back into the fold.

Seamus Darby showed promise in a 2m bumper at Galway (2m, soft) in July, when fourth and followed on with a repeat performance at Kilbeggan (2m, yielding) in September. Drop down to 1m 4f here ten days ago, saw them struggle, so it remains to be seen, if the shorter trips are suitable, if at all.

Can Tower Of Pisa lean into a win this evening, or can one of the aforementioned challenges produce a straightener and take the spoils at Dundalk?
