Race 1 (1:00pm) JUAN LES PINS

Both career wins came for Ed Walker and after a decent second on debut for Ed Dunlop thirteen months ago, it’s only recently, that form has returned to what would be expected. A third at Lingfield (7f) twenty-five days ago, was followed by a second at the same venue (7f) eight days ago, when 1.25 lengths adrift of Ostilio in a claiming contest. He didn’t really threaten the winner that day, but stayed on well and that should put him in good stead in this run. Decent claims and should feature.

Race 2 (1:30pm) JADE COUNTRY

Useful runs so far in three career races, including a second at Kempton (7f, a/w) back in November, when half a length behind Dancing Reel. After a short break, he returned last month, placing fifth of eleven at Lingfield (7f, a/w), keeping on relatively well and finishing 3.5 lengths adrift. Entitled to show more you have to feel and this might be the race to see Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge kick on.

Race 3 (2:00pm) SIR GREGORY

Had not shown much since a debut third at at Wolverhampton, back in March of last year and has changed hands several times since, but under Mick Appleby, he finally grabbed a maiden victory on his yard debut, last time out at Kempton (6f, a/w) ten days ago, when beating Magicinthemaking by 2.25 lengths. Looks capable of repeating that under a penalty, if improving further, but either way, is expected to be right in amongst them as they head into the closing stages.

Race 4 (2:30pm) RAABEH

A twenty-five race maiden, who has five places in that time, however Anthony Brittain’s charge has been getting close in recent outings, placing third here at Southwell over 4f ten days ago and following up with a second at Wolverhampton (5f, a/w) on Monday, when 1.25 lengths adrift of Zapper Cass. This 5-yo seems to be building up a head of steam lately and another close call looks likely, with the potential to end the barren run too.

Race 5 (3:00pm) LUCKY MAN

It took a little while to get going, but this Richard Spencer runner has been in good nick, since a second at Chelmsford back in September, grabbing his only victory so far at Newcastle (5f, a/w) in a Nursery back in November and placing twice in two subsequent runs. More to offer over 6f and definitely on the shortlist of main contenders for the win

Race 6 (3:30pm) SALTA RESTA

Struggled in the opening two starts, before placing a creditable fourth as an 80/1 shot at Wolverhampton at the end of last year. He then stepped up further to take a maiden win last time out, when beating Berra Go by 1.5 lengths over C&D when 18/1 just thirteen days ago, overcoming positional bias too. Strong claims on recent form and another win, would not be a surprise at all.
