Race 1 (1:00pm) FASCINATING LIPS

Winner at Lingfield, in April 2021 on second start for Gary Moore, when beating Dangerous Ends by a head. Lightly raced since, with a useful fifth of twelve at Chelmsford in December and a third of thirteen, again at Lingfield a fortnight later (both 1m 2f, a/w). Not seen since, so fitness may be a minor factor, but is back down to that last winning mark here. Decent claims if prepped and ready.

Race 2 (1:35pm) ENGRAVE

Five career wins, with the last of those back in December at Chelmsford (1m 2f, a/w), when a head clear of Maysong. Julia Feilden’s charge has been there or thereabouts since, including a second again over the same Chelmsford C&D, but needs to step up, if she is to grab the victory. The experience of Ross Birkett will be ideal in this amateur riders contest and should see an improved performance here.

Race 3 (2:10pm) MYSTERIOUS NIGHT

Strong run on debut from this Charlie Appleby runner, when second to Dark Thirty in a maiden stakes here over C&D, twenty-six days ago, missing out by just a nose. This brother of Althiqa and 7f winner Before Dawn looks set to have a bright future and could well take the victory, if running as he did in that opening start.

Race 4 (2:40pm) CRYSTAL CAPRICE

SIr Michael Stoute’s charge placed fifth of thirteen on debut, last Autumn at Newmarket (7f, good), holding her own nicely and some 5.25 lengths adrift of the winner. This Frankel filly, out of Crystal Zvezda certainly should have more to come and another strong performance is expected, assuming she is fresh and ready to go.

Race 5 (3:10pm) STAY ALERT

Useful debut back in January, before returning from a three month break to take the spoils at Wolverhampton (1m 4f, a/w), when 0.75 lengths clear of Lady Labelle in a strong performance from this Hughie Morrison filly. She backed that form up, with a second over C&D. behind Oaks third, Nashwa some twenty-five days ago, when upped a couple of levels and looks to have more to come as she develops further. Would not be a surprise to see her win.

Race 6 (3:40pm) DANDY MAESTRO

In strong form of late, with three wins, a second and a third in the last five starts, sealing a victory on the penultimate start at Bath (1m, good), when easing to a 7 length victory, ahead of Chifa. Richard Spencer’s runner was stepped up to Class 4, from that Class 6 contest, six days later, placing third of seven and not looking out of place at all. Has had a fortnight’s break for this race, which is likely to aide his chances and he could well take the spoils, if continuing this form, as he rises a level once again.
