Race 1 (1:20pm) IVORY MADONNA

Has so far placed third in both starts, firstly at Goodwood (6f, good to soft) in May, when 2.75 lengths adrift of the winner, Fully Wet, before finishing 2 lengths adrift of Meditate in the Albany Stakes at Ascot last month. Arguably the form horse of this contest and capable of grabbing a maiden victory here.

Race 2 (1:50pm) ZECHARIAH

Twice winner last Summer, including a Class 2 victory at Newbury (1m, good to soft) in September, when 2.25 lengths ahead of Westover. Having struggled on return this season, failing to beat an opponent in two runs, Freddie & Martyn Meade’s colt produced a much stronger display when second to Eldar Eldarov in the Group 2 – Queen’s Vase at Ascot, missing out by just a nose. Looks a big player here and the booking of Ryan Moore only adds to the appeal.

Race 3 (2:25pm) LITTLE BIG BEAR

Second on debut at Curragh (6f, yielding) back in April and has won both starts since, including the latest at Ascot (5f, good to firm) in the Listed – Windsor Castle Stakes, when a neck clear of Rocket Rodney. This looks a straight battle with Coventry Stakes runner-up, Persian Force for the spoils, with the rest fighting for places.

Today’s Racing

Race 4 (3:00pm) INGRA TOR

Made an okay debut back in October, but has been strong since returning to action in March, winning at Southwell (6f, a/w), before missing out on a double at Kempton (6f, a/w) by a neck to Nationwide, the following month. He stepped up well to take a Class 2 victory at Newmarket (6f, good), beating Harry Three by 2.25 lengths. A disappointing run last time out, saw Harry Three take the spoils that day, but this Mick Channon runner is expected to bounce back in style here.

Race 5 (3:35pm) YIBIR

Six time winner and sealed a treble, when taking the Group 1 – Breeder’s Cup Turf at Del Mar (1m 4f, firm), when half a lenght clear of Broome back in November. Has had a case of second-itis lately, finding just one too good in the Duabi Sheema Classic, Jockey Club Stakes and Man O’ War Stakes. The class act here, but needs to avoid another slow start, which has arguably cost him in recent runs.

Race 6 (4:10pm) BERKSHIRE SHADOW

Started his career with a bang, winning the first two runs, including the Group 2 – Coventry Stakes at Ascot in June of last year, but has found it tougher going, amongst top class opposition, with a sixth of eleven in the Group 1 – St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, realtively typical of form. Was fifth in the 2,000 Guineas here in April and should factor into proceedings in calmer waters here.
