Race 1 (2:30pm) ALFRED MUNNINGS
This Dubawi colt, out of Best In The World, got off to a perfect start, when taking the spoils at Leopardstown (7f, good) five weeks ago, when 4.5 lengths clear of Segomo. He made light work of that, being comfortably pushed along in the closing stages to extend the lead, with Aidan O’Brien’s runner set to display plenty more of his ability here.
Race 2 (3:05pm) SAMBURU
This team Gosden runner is perfect in three starts so far and showed his determination in the last two starts, when edging into the lead and staying on, at Salisbury (7f, good to firm) in April and when elevated in class, last time out at York (7f, good) beating Snooze N You Lose by half a length. Has arguably a bit more to do here, but still unexposed and can be in the mix here.
Race 3 (3:40pm) BROOME
Very impressive, five time Group winner, whose last came at Saint-Cloud (1m 4f, soft) in the Group 1 – Grand Prix Du Saint-Cloud (1m 4f, soft) a year ago. SIx runs since have failed to garner a victory, however this globetrotting Aidan O’Brien runner did place second in the Breeders Cup Turf at Del Mar (1m firm) last November, when half a length behidn Yibir. Hurrican Lane is the clear favourite here, with Broome expected to lead the challengers and the places.
Race 4 (4:20pm) CREATIVE FORCE
Six wins in eleven starts and sealed a four timer back in last years Jersey Stakes here at Ascot (7f, soft), 1.25 lengths clear of Naval Crown. He returned here in October to win the Group 1 – British Champion Sprint Stakes, a length clear of Glen Shiel, before returning from a 161 day break, with a disappointing run in the Group 1 – Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan in March. Loves it here and another strong performance is expected.
Race 5 (5:00pm) FRESH
Last of two career wins came here at Ascot (6f, good to soft) in a Class 3 back in May of last year. Since then he has placed in five of the last seven starts, including a couple of near misses, including his penultimate start at Kempton (6f, a/w) in April a shorthead behind Soar Above. A creditable fourth of twenty-seven in the latest, here six weeks ago, 2.5 lengths behind Vafortino. James Fanshawe’s runner is in good nick and can continue that form here.
Race 6 (5:35pm) ALDOUS HUXLEY
Winner on debut at Kempton (1m 2f, a/w) back in March, when an impressive 6.5 lengths clear of second. Has since placed second in successive runs, at Newmarket (1m 2f, good) in April, behind New London and in Listes company last time out at Goodwood (1m 3f, soft) in the Listed – Cocked Hat Stakes, when a neck to Lionel. Benoit De La Sayette rides this time around and another strong performance looks likely.
