Whats Your Thinking Handicap Chase (2:20pm Cheltenham)
This handicap contest, plays host to fourteen runners, with quite an open contest expected. Kerry Lee’s runner, Storm Control goes in as favourite for this contest, but its a Jonjo O’Neill’s Cloth Cap that is the selection here.
He has five win in twenty starts and sealed a double towards the end of last season, with wins at Newbury (3m 1f, good) November and victory amongst Listed company at Kelso (2m 7f, good to soft), when an impressive 7.5 lengths clear of Aso.His quest for glory in the Grand National was ended, when pulled up three from home, but returns from a wind operation with renewed impetus here, with Jonjo O’Neill quietly confident in his runner here.
Cloth Cap to win the race (6/1)
Chelsea v Norwich City (12:30pm)
Chelsea take on Norwich City, in this top versus bottom contest at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues fresh off the back of a 4-0 win over Malmo in the Champions League. The Canaries, after six successive league losses have drawn the last two, with 0-0 draws against Burnley and Brighton, but this looks a much tougher test for Daniel Farke’s side.
Thomas Tuchel will be confident of seeing his side win, however they will be without main striking threats in Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, who both picked up knocks. It may give the visitors a little respite in defensive terms, but the Blues should still be far to strong for Norwich and end up dominating possession and eventually breaking through what is expected to be a rear guard action.
Chelsea to take the spoils and win to nil (4/6)
Manchester United v Liverpool( (4:30pm)
These two old Lancashire rivals meet at Old Trafford, with both Liverpool and Manchester United returning from 3-2 victories in Europe last week.
Manchester United turned around a 2-0 half-time deficit against Atalanta to win, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the winner, to ease the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, while Liverpool were 2-0 to the good, before being pegged back by Atletico Madrid, The Spanish side went down to ten men, before Mo Salah’s penalty, 12 minutes from time sealed the win.
The sides shared a win a piece last season and a draw, but with United’s defensive frailties seeing them conceded six goals in the last two games, Liverpool can take a famous win at Old Tarafford
Liverpool To Win (5/4)
Formula 1 - United States Grand Prix (8:00pm)
The Formula One Drivers World Championship continues in Austin, Texas for the U.S. Grand Prix, as Lewis Hamilton looks to pull back the small six point advantage that Max Verstappen has in the table.
Hamilton’s teammate, Valteri Bottas, did him a big favour, when winning the Turkish Grand Prix in the last race, keeping Verstappen at bay in second, as the world champion took a fresh power unit. Hamilton is expected to be strong in Austin, not only with the fresher engine, but at a track that he has won five times on in the eight times this course has hosted the race.
