SATURDAY
SUPER SUPERJACK – Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Stayers (Handicap) (2:45pm Ascot)
The Shergar Cup takes place at Ascot on Saturday, with this international team competition featuring eight races across the day. This race takes place over 2m and features our first selection: Super Superjack
He has five wins and seven seconds in twenty-two starts overall, for Milton Harris and he picked up a double back in May, when winning over C&D, ahead of Make My Day by 1.5 lengths. He has continued the strong form, with a couple of seconds, including the latest at Glorious Goodwood (2m 4f, good to firm), when just 0.75 lengths behind Master Milliner just eight days ago. Nicola Currie rides here and he looks the one to beat.
SUPER SUPERJACK TO WIN (5/2)
CHELSEA v Everton (Premier League, 5:30pm)
Everton take on Chelsea in the Saturday evening kick-off, as both sides look to put a difficult pre-season behind them at Goodison Park.
Both sides have been busy in the transfer market, with Everton bringing in Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski, but some poor results, including an embarrassing 4-0 loss to Minnesota United, shows Frank Lampard has plenty to do.
Chelsea have been spending too, now Ted Boehly has purchased the club, with Kalidou Koulibaly, Raheem Sterling and Carney Chukwuemeka coming to the club so far and with more promised. Thomas Tuchel’s side have also had a poor pre-season and after the 4-0 pre-season loss to Arsenal, he said his side wont be ready for this game, however, with the Toffees struggling too, the Blues should have enough to make it a winning start.
CHELSEA TO WIN AND BOTH TO SCORE (27/10)
SUNDAY
WESTS TIGERS v Newcastle Knights (NRL, 7:05am)
Wests Tigers take on Newcastle Knights in this Sunday morning match-up, with the Tigers finally getting off the bottom of the table, with a second successive win, as they beat the Brisbane Broncos, in a suprising 32-18 away victory.
Their opponents Newcastle, are in a poor run of form, losing the last four games and now find themselves just two points ahead of the Tigers going into this game
With form how it is and the Wests winning six of the last nine meetings against the Knights at the Campbelltown Stadium, another home win looks on the cards.
WESTS TIGERS TO WIN (1/2)
MANCHESTER CITY v West Ham United (Premier League, 4:30pm)
West Ham take on Man City, with all eyes on Erling Haaland’s first league appearance for the champions. However its not just City, who have a new striker, with the Hammers also busy in the transfer window, signing Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo.
Pep Guardiola’s City side have also brought in Kevin Phillips from Leeds, as well as Julian Alvarez back from his loan spell in South America to bolster the squad, which was beaten 3-1 by Liverpool in the Community Shield
The Hammers gave City a tough time in both fixtures last season, with City held 2-2 in London and winning 2-1 at the Etihad, however with the Hammers pre-season not going as smoothly as David Moyes’ would have hoped, the Champions should have enough in the side to take three points here.
MAN CITY TO WIN (4/11)
