image-left-align The Weekend ComethWelcome to The Weekend Cometh!, aimed at bringing you the punter, four top sporting bets for the coming weekend and ultimately creating a regular Lucky 15 selection each week, along with the odd extra punt here and there. So without further ado, check out this week’s selections below.

The first pick comes from Rugby Super League Qualifiers, with Warrington Wolves taking on the Catalans Dragons at the Halliwell Jones Stadium at 3:00pm Saturday. Both sides won their opening game of this league phase, which see’s sides looking to retain their top flight status.

The Wolves have won the last five meetings at home to the Catalans and a total of eight of the last ten meetings in total. The Dragons are in a bad run of form with one win in their last four games, while the Wolves have won their last four on the bounce.

All it seems, points to a home win, with Wolves win 1-12 points @21/10 looking very favourable.

Next is the Premier League Football match between Brighton and Manchester City at the Amex Stadium (Saturday 5:30pm).

Brighton have a tough task against Pep Guardiola’s side, even on home soil. Chris Hughton knows he cannot afford to take the game to City and will look at best for counter-attacking options.

Man City will debut several new signings, but it’s upfront that the focus will remain, as Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus look to open their goal accounts. City should be too good for Brighton, so City to win -1 Goal @10/11 looks strong.

On Saturday evening (Kick-Off 7:00pm), Jocelyn Gourvennec’s Bordeaux take on Metz in Ligue 1, with the home side looking strong favourites to take all three points.

Bordeaux have started slowly this season, having been knocked out of the Europa League by Videoton (Hungary) and picking up a 2-2 draw at Angers, however they take on a Metz side who were beaten 3-1 by Guingamp last week and had the worst defence in Ligue 1 last season.

The last two meetings between the sides saw 3-0 victories for Bordeaux and another straightforward win is expected once more. Bordeaux to win to nil @6/4

The last of the four comes in the Women’s Rugby World Cup, as one of the favourites, England take on Italy in the group stage in Dublin (Kick-Off 2:30pm Sunday)

England thrashed Spain 56-5 in the opening game, while Italy were beaten by the United States in a disappointing 24-12 loss.

England have massively improved in the last twelve months thanks to central contracts with the RFU. This reverse in fortunes is typified by two results against Canada, which have turned from a thirty-five point defeat in January 2016, to a thirty-three point win ten months later.

England will romp to victory, with an England -38.5 point handicap bet at 10/11 looking spot on.
