(1) (5:38pm Lingfield) TALBOT was 13/2 now 15/4
Only win came here on debut back in June of 2020, when beating Jojo Rabbit over 5f in a Class 5 contest. After some difficult attempts at higher levels, he has dropped back in recent runs and shown his abilities, with a second at Ascot back in May and a third in his penultimate run at Sandown (7f, good) in a Class 3 contest. He makes his debut for Joseph O’Brien later today, with a fair bit of expectation, with the market reflecting that here. Dylan McMonagle claims 3lbs on the geldings return to the all-weather.
(2) (7:52pm Chelmsford) RAINBOW SIGN was 9/1, now 15/4
Plenty of promise, but has not quite had enough, with a sprinkling of nearly moments, when finishing just outside the places. He did place once at Kempton (7f, a./w) back in January, before reverting back to “nearly” status. Has finished third in his last two turf starts and could potentially show a bit more in this Classified Stake race. Backed in and worthy of each-way selection
(3) (8:52pm Chelmsford) KENTUCKY KINGDOM was 16/1 now 4/1
Both victories have come over C&D, including the latest back in February, when 2 lengths clear of Glint Of An Eye. Looked to have needed the run, on a first appearance after wind surgery, but needs to show a little more here. Backed in well and .once again, each-way backing looks the best way forward
(4) (5:45pm Tramore) PRUSSIA WITH LOVE was 12/1 now 13/2
Only victory came at Uttoxeter, thirteen months ago, but showed positive signs last time out at Newcastle (2m 4f, a/w), when fourth of eleven in a National Hunt Bumper back in February. Makes chasing an yard debut today and has seen some market interest overnight. Worthy of each-way claims for this contest
(5) (6:08pm Lingfield) PAPA STOUR was 12/1, now 13/2
Without a win since sealing a double back in November of last year, a run stretching to twelve races. Showed glimpses of earlier form last month, when second at Yarmouth (1m, good to firm) and a third at Chelmsford (6f, a/w) in his penultimate start. More needed to challenge for the spoils, but place backing looks a more realistic option
