(1) (2:25pm Fakenham) VOICE OF CALM was 9/2 now 10/3
Three wins in fifteen, with two of those coming in the Spring, including victory at Cartmel (2m 1f, good) back in May on the penultimate run, when beating Calliope by 4.25 lengths. Emma Lavelle’s mare struggled last time out at Market Rasen, when stepping up to Class 2 level, in July and returns with a little to prove. Drop back in grade will no doubt help, while a tongue-tie may eeke out a bit more. Each-way backing looks the way forward here, with Megan and Sorbet both strong contenders.
(2) (3:30pm Fakenham) GIVE ME A CUDDLE was 6/1, now 10/3
Court Cave gelding out of Social Society, who cost 10,000Eur as a 3-yo. He is a half-brother to useful hurdle and chase winner (2m 7f – 3m 1f), Dingo Dollar, while dam is also a winner over 3m. Half sister to a bumper winner and trainer Neil King is 1/7 in bumper contests this season. Plenty of optimism and with Bryony Frost onboard, strong claims too.
(3) (3:35pm Limerick) MRS WATSON was 5/1 now 7/2
Five race maiden, who picked up a career best fourth of sixteen, last time out at Clonmel (2m 3f, heavy), finishing 11.5 lengths adrift of winner, Cute Cherry, when an 18/1 shot. Needs to settle better to feature once again, having raced keenly early on in last months contest. This, however looks to be a weaker race and there are genuine chances here, with some market interest shortening her in further.
(4) (1:20pm Limerick) POWERFUL OUT was 11/2 now 4/1
Winner at the third time of asking at Tramore (2m, yielding to soft), in a bumper contest some thirteen months ago. Has shown consistency since, with several placed runs, including in the latest at Thurles (2m, good to yielding) in a maiden hurdle, fifteen lengths behind winner, Family Business, but 0.75 lengths ahead of the odds on favourite, Manisanda. One of three leading lights in this contest and can readily take the victory.
(5) (1:05pm Ayr) FLEXI FURLOUGH was 15/2, now 5/1
Maiden winner on just her second start, back in August 2020 at Sedgefield (2m, good), winning the bumper contest by 15 lengths. Gillian Boanas’s charge has been in consistent form since with a run of 42-23, with a third at Wetherby (2m 5f, good to soft) seeing them just 1.25 lengths behind winner Rock The House, with race rival, Be The Difference, just a nose in front. Strong claims and plenty of backing, makes each-way contention likely.
