(1) (5:30pm Southwell) LE REVEUR was 6/1 now 3/1
Won on his penultimate start at Chelmsford when getting up to lead close home over 1m back in December. Although sent off market leader last time out at Southwell, the five-year-old dwelt at the start and could never recover despite making some late headway turning for home. If starting better this afternoon, Le Reveur could return to winning ways as a few of these may have their stamina stretched over the trip.
(2) (6:00pm Southwell) STONE SOLDIER was 15/2 now 4/1
Was an emphatic course and distance winner back in march last year, winning by 5l in a competitive Class 2 handicap. Archie Watson’s charge was successful last season at Haydock before being sent off joint favourite for a valuable handicap at Galway but unfortunately unseated as the stalls opened. The five-year-old has been well supported on return to the Nottinghamshire track and market support would be significant as he has an impressive record here of 1-1-6-1.
(3) (4:30pm Southwell) STAND FREE was 8/1 now 9/2
The five-year-old finished 0.5l behind Al Qaasim when finishing third over course and distance last time out, with the trio pulling clear of the remainder on that occasion. Stand Free is now 5lb better off with the aforementioned rival and Paul Mulrennan returns to the saddle who was on board two starts ago when winning well at Newcastle.
(4) (3:30pm Lingfield) DANDY MAESTRO was 8/1 now 5/1
There was plenty of market support for Dandy Maestro last time out in Class 6 company when finishing second to the improving Al Mufeed over an extended 1m1f trip at Wolverhampton. Connections reach for blinkers for the first time and that may prove the necessary spark in order to shed the maiden tag at the seventh time of asking with useful 3lb claimer Angus Villers on board.
(5) (3:00pm Lingfield) OCEAN EYES was 12/1 now 7/1
Remains a maiden after 16 starts but has previously run well from much higher marks in the past and now finds herself on a career low mark of just 50 this afternoon. The filly h looked badly in need of the return to action the last two outings at Southwell and Wolverhampton but better can be expected today with blinkers applied for the first time. It would not be a surprise to see the filly outrun her odds in what looks a very modest contest.
