(1) (8:00pm Kempton) MARCHETTI was 17/2, now 10/3

Twelve race maiden, who has placed just twice so far in this career, including on debut for current trainer, Jimmy Fox in his penultimate start here at Kempton last month, as a 125/1 third of fourteen, just 2.5 lengths adrift of the winner. He finished behind Agent Of Fortune last time out, with a wide run not helping his cause, but looks to have stronger claims here and has seen plenty of market interest to encourage further still.

(2) (2:10pm Leopardstown) HAUT EN COULEURS was 9/2, now 7/2

Winner over in France, before joining Willie Mullins and producing a fine display to place third in the Triumph Hurdle at the Festival last March, before repeat the feat in another Grade 1 – Ballymore Champion 4-yo Hurdle at Punchestown (2m, good to yielding), when 2.25 lengths adrift of Jeff Kidder in May. He returned to action at the end of the year, taking the spoils on chasing debut here over C&D (good to yielding) easing down in the closing stages to win by 5.5 lengths. Plenty to like about him overall and has the potential to take the spoils here.

(3) (2:05pm Musselburgh) VALADOM was 7/1 now 9/2

Experienced campaigner, with the 13-yo still showing he has what it takes, with a placed finish at Sandown in December, albeit some 16 lengths adrift of the winner, Bali Body, before a fifth in the latest here, although heavy ground didn’t suit. Runner-up in this contest two years ago and with Lilly Pinchin claiming an extra 3lbs, he should force himself into the reckoning here, with cautious each-way backing, the way to go.

(4) (4:10pm Wetherby) ROYAL MOGUL was 8/1, now 6/1

Had a couple of useful point runs, before a seventh on debut in a listed bumper at Cheltenham in November, finishing 9 lengths off the winner. He placed sixth of twelve in the latest at Southwell (1m 7f, good to soft) in another bumper in December, once again showing promise. If he continues to improve, then he has decent claims here, with each-way backing the ideal selection.

(5) (3:50pm Leopardstown) CAPUCCIMIX was 12/1, now 8/1

Three career wins for this Henry De Bromhead runner, including on his penultimate start at Killarney (2m 1f, good) back in July of last year, when 6 lengths clear of Everlastingpromise. He fell on return, four weeks ago at Fairyhouse after a couple of errors, but that can be put down to a lack of sharpness arguably. Expect better this afternoon for this well backed runner, with places beckoning.
