GNAT ALLEY (4:45pm Catterick) was 3/1, now 7/4
Two wins in eight, including the sealing of a double on return from a 227 day break at Thirsk (6f, good), when beatign Thin Lizzy by a neck, four weeks ago. Not disgraced when tenth of twenty-one at York (6f, good) in latest, some 6.75 lengths adrift of the winner and is likely to bounce back this afternoon, with Tim Easterby’s runner now backed into favouritism.
ITACARE (3:35pm Market Rasen) was 9/2, now 9/4
Picked up a third career victory, when taking the spoils ay Ludlow (2m 5f, good) in the penultimate start, beating Equus Millar by 3.25 lengths, before missing out on a double, by just 0.75 lengths at Chepstow (2m 7f, good) in April, last time out, behind Burrows Park. David Pipe’s charge is up another 3lbs today and can push favourite, Dorrells Pierji all the way.
AL AMEEN (6:06pm Doncaster) was 11/2, now 7/2
Winner in second start, back in January, beating Dirty Martini by a shorthead at Southwell (5f, a/w). Has since failed to add to that, but has placed in three of the five subsequent runs, including a third of eighteen at Ascot (6f, good) in the penultimate run, four weeks ago, when a length behind Sterling Knight. Backed in to favouritism for this first stab at 7 furlongs.
MAGICAL MORNING (6:41pm Doncaster) was 7/1, now 5/1
Three time winner and placed on three occasions too, this Team Gosden runner has failed to win in five starts, since July of last year, at Sandown (1m, good), when 0.75 lengths ahead of Maydanny. he ended the season with a creditable third at Ascot in a Class 2 contest in October and clearly needed the run on return from a 203 day break, when twenty-first of twenty-seven at Ascot (7f, good) last month. Backed in on the markets, but may have to settle for a place, with Dhahabi looking strong.
ZLATAN (7:30pm Bath) was 9/1, now 6/1
Credible performer, with five wins and nineteen places overall for Ed De Giles, with the last of those wins, coming at Sandown, back in July of last year. He has continued the generally consistent nature of his form more recently, with a fourth at Haydock (7f, soft), on return from an extended break and a third of eight at Brighton (1m, good to firm), seventeen days ago, when a length adrift of the winner, Zulu Girl, who reopposes. Some money on the boards, but places look more likely, with minor each-way interest.
