(1) (2:25pm Ascot) SOUL EMOTION was 15/2, now 9/2
Won opening two career starts at Sandown over 2m 4f in 2018 and was then out of action after just one start last season, with both a physical problem and then a wind op. Returned in November, in a rust clearing seventh at Newbury, before finishing third in a Class 2 handicap hurdle at Newbury once again. Looks to be making headway and can continue the progress today.
(2) (12:45pm Navan) PEACHES AND CREAM was 7/1, now 9/2
Three wins in fourteen career starts over hurdles, with the last of those coming at Leopardstown** three weeks ago in a novice handicap hurdle over 2m 4f in an easy win. Rises 8lbs today and find himself among a stronger field too. Has solid chance in a very open contest. Jamie Moore returns to the saddle.
(3) (4:15pm Haydock) DUC DE GRISSAY was 12/1 now 6/1
Decent runner, who was unlucky not to win a novices contest at Kelso back in November, when falling at the last. Finished fourth (of eight) in a Clas 2 afterwards at Newcastle, before a third at the sam venue in a Class 4 last month. Takes on 3m trip for first time on handicap debut and has good claims in a very competitive race.
(4) (1:15pm Ascot) DAWSON CITY was 14/1, now 15/2
Outsider of the field, who has been backed in well overnight. Loves heavy conditions and has stamina for days, which will suit them today. Recent record since winning at Exeter back in February over 3m 6f, reads 5475. Jockey Chloe Emsley makes her rules debut today and claims 7lbs and could go close today, with places likely.
(5) (6:45pm Chelmsford) FUWAIRT was 33/1, now 14/1
Another runner well backed overnight is this eight year old, who has slowly slid down the ratings over the last year or so. Last victory was at Kempton back in February, with no better than a fourth in the last six starts. Handicapper has offering a bit of assistance here, but looks no more than an outside each-way bet this evening.
