(1) (5:00pm Chelmsford) CALEVADE was 13/2, now 4/1
Unlucky last month, when beaten by a head at Newcastle, before finishing eighth of twelve last time out over course and distance six days ago, albeit only three and a half lengths back from the winner. Switches to Polytrack today and has every chance of making their maiden victory today.
(2) (1:05pm Doncaster) EVENSTEVENS was 11/1, now 5/1
Three career runs so far saw them pulled-upon debut, before sixth and eighth placed finishes at Hereford, although they did improve considerably last time out. Drops down in class and goes for the extended 3m today, which may suit better. Plenty of interest in the market and definitely one to keep an eye on.
(3) (7:00pm Chelmsford) LEP was 12/1 now 8/1
Two career runs have both been promising, finishing fourth on debut at Lingfield last month, before improving to third at the same venue, nineteen days later, both over the 1m 2f distance. Looks likely to improve further this afternoon, although does face tougher and more in form competition. Each-way backing looks a wiser move.
(4) (2:10pm Doncaster) TURNING GOLD was 14/1, now 17/2
Winner of a Class 3 hurdle at Leicester a year ago, has followed on with form of 753 since, with the third coming in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time out. Makes chase debut and likely to be in the hunt, if transitions well to fences.
(5) (1:15pm Fairyhouse) CASTLE OLIVER was 16/1, now 11/1
Bumper winner at this venue a year ago, but struggled since, with his sixth place on debut over hurdles at Punchestown back in February, the best performance so far. Three runs over fences have yielded little so far and needs a turn around in form. Small each-way coverage is warranted at best.
