(1) (3:28pm Stratford) NORTHERN PRINCESS was 10/1, now 9/2
Makes seasonal debut this afternoon, but did win a Class 4 at Huntingdon (1m 7f, good to soft) back in November of last year, finishing 0.75 lengths clear of Arkyn. Followed up with disappointment at Doncaster (2m 2f, heavy) in the December, although conditions and listed company probably gave her too much to do. Makes handicap debut this afternoon and looks to be relatively unexposed by the handicapper. Solid chances and well backed in.
(2) (5:36pm Market Rasen) HORIZON BLEU was 13/1, now 6/1
This Spanish Moon gelding out of Lili Bleue, makes debut this afternoon, with some solid jumping pedigree behind them. A half brother to previous winners including Ulinosa (2m 2f /2m 5f hurdler/chaser) and Augustin (2m 3f hurdle / 2m 7f chase). Dam was a French 2m 3f, hurdle and chase winner too. Plenty of optimism in the markets and has been backed in sharply overnight.
(3) (3:00pm Leopardstown) INCA PRINCE was 16/1, now 15/2
Followed up a barrier trial win, with a debut victory at Dundalk (7f, a/w), when 0.75 lengths ahead of Feeling Tip Top, three weeks ago. Henry De Bromhead’s charge will arguably need to find improvement here, under a tougher challenge, but capable of showing progression, with the markets in agreement, having been backed in from around 16’s. Each-way backing looks the safer option here.
(4) (7:00pm Wolverhampton) I’M WATCHING YOU was 20/1, now 8/1
Showed plenty of promise, when picking up a place as an 80/1 shot, at today’s venue, over 6f, a year ago, but has failed to replicate that since. Latest saw them finishing seventh over the same course and distance last month, with the drop to 5f, hopefully aiding some improvement. Place selection looks the better option.
(5) (4:31pm Market Rasen) BEGGARS WISHES was 15/1, now 10/1
Not raced since April 2019, with the handicapper seemingly offering a bit of hope on his return, racing off a decent mark here. Has usually done well fresh and he has won over C&D (heavy) back in April 2018 on testing conditions. Bit of market backing encourages each-way chances here, if he can return with a bang.
