(1) (5:30pm Newcastle) KIND REVIEW was 9/1, now 11/2
Enjoy’s this venue, having picked up a second victory (6f, a/w) in four starts, nineteen days ago, when holding Lead Singer by a neck. Has also won over 7f and 1m, to show his versatility too. Comes in to this race 3lbs heavier, while the rise in class may be asking a little too much of him, however his record at Newcastle is pretty impressive, so no reason to suggest he cannot step up here, if on song.
(2) (3:35pm Redcar) MAX OCLOCK was 14/1, now 8/1
Looked impressive, when taking the victory in an Ayr (5f good) nursery in August, but has dropped off since, over 6-7f trips, although the seventh placed finish at Newcastle (7f, a/w) did show minor improvement from the two previous starts. Needs a revival of form today, but has had some market backing. One to watch, if backed down further, with places looking the most likely.
(3) (2:35pm Leicester) OVERWRITE was 10/1, now 8/1
Picked up a win at Windsor (1m good to firm) over the Summer and finished first past the post at Newbury (1m, good to soft) in August, only to be demoted for interference, having finished a head clear of Tempus. Struggled in latest at Doncaster (1m good) and needs to pick up on past form, to be in the mix here. Each-way claims possible.
(4) (7:00pm Newcastle) SOPHIE B was 16/1, now 10/1
Best of eight career runs, was on debut at Chepstow back in June, when fourth and eight lengths adrift of winner Time Scale. Has failed to build on that since, including in a couple of nursery runs, including the latest at Southwell (7f, a/w), when 4.5 lengths behind. Needs to show a big improvement all around, but has seen some market interest, likely from place backers.
(5) (4:20pm Leicester) BEEPEECEE was 50/1, now 28/1
Won twice on polytrack at Lingfield at the back end of last year, with the latest in December, over 7f, when 1.75 lengths clear of Born To Finish. Returned to action in the Summer, with two poor showings, with the latest, an eighth at Wolverhampton (7f, a/w) in August, some 8.75 lengths behind the victor. First turf run since 2017 and has cheekpieces fitted. Place backing at best.
