Once again we have two meetings for Wednesday, with action from Kempton and at Yarmouth which provides the first turf meeting since Monday’s racing return. Check out the top five market movers for the days meetings, including a Yarmouth runner backed in from 18/1.
”was” and “now” prices representative of strongest market movement across various bookmakers, stated prices are best available at time of writing from bet365
All pricing correct as of 9:20am, 3rd June
(1) (3:20pm Kempton) PLUNGER was 10/1, now 9/2
Has not set the world alight in three runs since switching to John Butler’s yard, but there were signs of potential last time out at Wolverhampton, despite finishing sixth of ten over the 7f trip, pulling hard at the rear of the field and hanging left. Despite the ill-discipline, he seems to like Kempton, with a win and a place in four starts so far and punters are not shying away in the market. Gossiping is arguably the horse to beat, but has a chance if he can pull out a performance today.
(2) (2:30pm Yarmouth) GINGER MIX was 10/1, now 11/2
Struggled in novice and maiden races last year and struggled on handicap debut, fading away in what was their first time over 7f, when eighth at Southwell. Has been gelded, whilst also having a wind-op over the Winter and this has piqued backers interest. Beating 2/1 favourite, Dutch Story will be a tough ask, but not impossible.
(3) (5:40pm Kempton) DUBAI ELEGANCE was 14/1, now 7/1
Picked up at double either side of the New Year, with both victories at Wolverhampton, with the latter by a neck in a Class 5 outing. Missed out on a treble by a 0.75l over C&D at the end of January, before a disappointing fifth at Chelmsford last time out. Has every chance with a drop in class, in what is expected to be a close contest
(4) (5:05pm Kempton) SIR PLATO was 16/1, now 8/1
Unraced since October, when finishing eighth in heavy conditions at Windsor. Last victory was nearly two years ago, in a Class 4 at Ffos Las, but has only picked up a single place finish (Bath, Last August) since. Has placed or better in all three runs at Class 6 level and returns for a fourth attempt, which has clearly encouraged backing overnight. Well worth an each-way selection.
(5) (1:20pm Yarmouth) BAILIACO was 18/1, now 17/2
This Warren Greatrex runner won five times in 2018, but has not been in the winners circle,, since January 2019 at Kempton. Returned from a five month break with disappointing runs on the all-weather at Kempton back in February, so its hoped a marked improvement comes on his return to turf. Clearly has the ability, but looks a better each-way hope.
