All pricing correct as of 8:45am, 15th September, shorted priced runner, first.
(1) (3:55pm Kempton) FLORENCE STREET was 12/1, now 3/1.
Debuted in a Class 2 maiden at Salisbury (6f, good), when well held back in seventh, having faded towards the end of the race. Rise to 7f is a little surprising, but the drop back to Class 5 level should arguably counter that this afternoon. Oisin Murphy rides and improvement is expected.
(2) (4:50pm Redcar) THE FIDDLER was 9/1 now 4/1
Winner, twice in a row around this time last year and has been lightly raced since, with a third at Newmarket (1m 4f, good) and another third at Yarmouth (1m 6f, good to firm) in latest start, sandwiching a poor run at Newbury. Currently 2lbs higher than when last taken a victory and needs a little more to grab the spoils. Place backing looks more realistic.
(3) (4:00pm Yarmouth) GLORIOUS CHARMER was 15/1, now 5/1
Winner of two sprints on turf, for previous trainer, but has not really found similar, since switching to Michael Herrington’s yard, although the best of his four runs came last time out at Haydock (6f, good to soft), as a 50/1 shot, when just 2 lengths off the winner, finishing seventh. Tongue-tie used that day is removed and comes in off a decent handicap mark. Worthy of further market attention.
(4) (4:10pm Hexham) FOR THREE was 11/1, now 6/1
A triple C&D winner, including two in a row in May of 2019. Picked up a third place back in February at Musselburgh on previous but one outing, when 11 lengths adrift and returned to action over C&D thirteen day ago, finishing fourth, well adrift of the front three, but clearly needed the run that day. Will strip fitter but needs to show more.
(5) (1:05pm Tipperary) LARADO was 25/1, now 13/2
Not the greatest of debut runs, when twelfth (of eighteen) at Naas (6f, good to firm) in June, finishing 7 lengths adrift, after what an be only described as a messy race, with plenty of issues throughout. Faded 2f out, so reduced trip today should help, but needs to find plenty more to take the spoils. Place selection looks the way to go.
