(1) (3:50pm Cork) DAVID GARRICK was 9/1, now 7/2
Won over C&D (soft) last month, when 1.75 lengths clear of Yafordadoe, before being unable to continue the form at Navan (1m, soft), when fifth (of thirteen), although he was racing off a career high mark. Drops a couple of pounds here and drying conditions will aide his chances
(2) (1:00pm Cork) ABOGADOS was 10/1, now 4/1.
A couple of notable runs in maidens, including a second at Roscommon (7f, yielding) and a fifth behind Group 2 winner Cadillac at Leopardstown (7f, good). Struggled in latest at Curragh, with heavy ground clearly not suiting. Drops down to 6f today and may find it on the testing side, with arguably a mile, mile and one better suited. However, has a chance if can handle the pace.
(3) (4:35pm Beverley) GINGER JAM was 9/1 now 5/1
Has won over C&D five times, including the latest of those a month ago (good to firm), when half a length clear of Line Of Reason in a Class 4. Struggled last time out, when seventeenth and 12.5 lengths adrift in a Class 2 at Doncaster, was hampered at the start in fairness, but should bounce back in this return to Class 4 level. Every chance on a track he clearly loves to run on.
(4) (3:35pm Beverley) FIVE HELMETS was 10/1, now 5/1
Twice winner over C&D, although the last of those was back in August (good to firm) of last year. Has had three runs since seasonal return, improving gradually with each race, with a sixth placed finish in latest at Lingfield (1m 2f, AW), finishing 3.75 lengths back. Drops down to Class 5 this afternoon and has strong claims in this competitive contest.
(5) (5:10pm Kelso) NEWTOWN BOY was 15/1, now 8/1
Twice winner around the latter stages of last year, with the last of those in December at Haydock (2m 2f, soft). Picked up a couple of reasonable runs in the January, when stepping up in class and returned from a seven month break at Perth (2m 4f, good to soft), finishing fifth, having paid the price for an over-exuberant start. Will be fresher for that outing and assuming he is a bit more conservative, he will go close, with each-way backing worth considering over the win.
