(1) (4:50pm Curragh) DANCE JUPITER was 7/1, now 13/8
Won a maiden at Cork (1m, yielding to soft) last October, and returned to action, after a 343 day break, finishing second at Galway (1m, heavy) on debut for Joseph O’Brien’s yard eighteen das ago, finishing 0.75 lengths off the winner Teed Up. Will strip fitter for that first win in such a long time and has been backed into favourite on the markets.
(2) (2:10pm Market Rasen) LUCKOFTHEDRAW was 11/1, now 7/2
Ended last season, with a couple of solid performances, placing third at Warwick (2m, soft) in January, before repeating the same result at Ludlow (2m 4f, soft), the following month. Comes into the race, just 1lb heavier than when winning this last year and has had plenty of market interest, with ground expected to soften.
(3) (12:50pm Curragh) SANTA BARBARA was 8/1, now 4/1
This Camelot filly, out of Santa’s Dream makes debut this afternoon and has some strong pedigree. Is half-sister to Group 1 winner, Iridissa and Order Of Australia wo finished fourth in the Irish Derby. Debutants tend to improve off the first run for Aidan O’Brien, but she has attracted plenty of market attention. Should go close.
(4) (5:15pm Chelmsford) YAGOOD was 11/1, now 4/1
Had picked up a win, when trained over in France, at Nort Sur Erdre (1m 1f, good), but has failed to find form in three starts since switching to Roger Ingram’s yard, with the latest, a sixth at Sadown (1m 1f, good to firm) in July, finishing 10 lengths adrift. Drop in class may help, but looks more likely to bag a place, than a victory.
(5) (4:10pm Newmarket) COLORANDO was 30/1, now 11/1
Solid runs so far, including a third on debut at Lingfield (6f, AW) in June. Repeated the feat at Wolverhampton (6f, AW) in latest, seventeen days ago, finishing 2.25 lengths off the winner. Steps up to 7f on turf debut this afternoon, along with the jump in class, but plenty of market interest overnight and has each-way claims.
