(1) (4:15pm Galway) CALL ME ROCKY was 5/1, now 9/4
Solid fourth at Dundalk back in November, before returning to action at Roscommon, finishing third on heavy ground, over 1m 2f. Stripped fitter for that run, when taking the spoils at Limerick a fortnight ago, while better conditions (good) and the reduction to a mile, looked vastly more favourable. Makes handicap debut here and with a 3lb jockey claim, should be in the thick of it.
(2) (5:15pm Galway) PRINCESS ZOE was 5/1, now 5/2
Placed second twice in German handicaps, before making Irish debut, with a second at Navan over 1m 5f on soft ground. Won following race at Curragh a fortnight ago, on good to yielding by a comfortable 5 lengths and then backed that up here on Monday, winning over 2m. Has a 7lbs penalty for this shorter trip, but still looks to be one of the main contenders.
(3) (3:00pm Goodwood) MANUELA DE VEGA was 8/1 now 9/2
Winner of a Group 3 at Haydock in June, before returning to the same venue last month and winning the Lancashire Oaks in a fine performance that saw her finish 5.5 lengths clear of the rest. Faces an uphill task against strong favourite Enbihaar, whom beat her in last years renewal and with a 3lbs disadvantage, this will be tough.
(4) (3:50pm Newmarket) VIVID DIAMOND was 10/1 now 6/1
Outsider of four runners in this contest, but has attracted a bit of interest in the markets. Has ot been able to replicate last seasons, which included a listed win at Chester, but not entirely disgraced in the Aphrodite Stakes last time out, despite being last but one. Needs to find a big improvement, while the 1m 6f may help somewhat.
(5) (3:35pm Goodwood) WATAN was 18/1, now 9/1
Has won over C&D, back in 2018 on debut, but has not quite hit the heights since, Ran just twice in 2019, with a sixth and third (both Newmarket) and returned to action last month at Newbury, finishing second in a Class 4, with sharpness the main focus there. Backed in this morning and his love of fast ground could prove a big asset this afternoon. Each-way selections look the way to go.
