(1) (1:50pm Warwick) FIRST STREET was 6/4 now Evs
Beaten favourite in both of his bumper starts (runner-up on each occasion) yet improved for the switch to hurdling and addition of a hood when scoring at Bangor last time. The headgear is retained today, and with this being just his fourth career start he clearly remains open to improvement. Sole runner on the card for his powerful connections.
(2) (2:35pm Leicester) JAMMRAH was 7/2 now 11/8
Impeccably-bred half-sister to Group 1 winning Benbatl, and Listed-placed Fooraat; dam Nahrain US Grade 1 winner. Makes debut today for a yard more than capable of readying one first time out and with a fine strike-rate (29%) with their 3yo runners here in recent years.
(3) (4:45pm Warwick) WHITE WALKER was 3/1 now 6/4
Has looked progressive since joining current connections, running out a six-length winner at Market Rasen last month. Beaten favourite when attempting to follow-up at Uttoxeter afterwards, with that run being upgraded as he was given plenty to do. Gets in here off the same mark, and the additional yardage will suit.
(4) (8:00pm Wolverhampton) ROUGE ET NOIR was 13/2 now 11/4
Built on a respectable Lingfield debut third when fourth in a competitive Newmarket novice (three ahead of her there all now rated in the 80s). Well held in a competitive Goodwood maiden last time, but she had excuses for that with the ground softer than ideal and was forced to race wide. Looks a potential improver now handicapping from a mark of 77.
(5) (4:20pm Leicester) PLASTIC PADDY was 11/1 now 16/5
Has cut little ice in two starts for current connections, finishing mid-field in a Southwell handicap last time. Did show some ability for Chelsea Banham on the all-weather earlier this year, however, including over this trip at Kempton. Less exposed than most of these runners and claimer now takes off a handy five pounds.
