Today’s top selections from the press and media feature a pair of runners at Leicester this afternoon, along with a trio of choices at Chelmsford this evening. So check out the top five most popular newspaper tips below, along with the best odds available.
1: GARSMAN (5:30pm Chelmsford) (7 Votes)
Had okay, if unspectacular performances in Ireland, before making Mick Appleby and All-weather debut at Southwell, winning by 2 lengths in a three runner field, beating the 2/5 favourite Ladyleas Beluga too. Comes into this handicap under penalty, but is expected to improve further. Plenty of expectation on this 3-y-o, but another win looks on the cards.

2: COME ON BEAR (6:00pm Chelmsford) (4 Votes)
No better than fourth in first seven starts, but finally grabbed a maiden victory, when a length clear at Wolverhampton ten days ago in a Class 6 apprentice handicap. Drops down a level today and escapes a penalty too, while jockey George Rooke can also claim. Looks to have all the advantage here and should win with comfort, if can repeat the feat on polytrack.

3: CLONDAW WESTIE (3:00pm Leicester) (3 Votes)
Lightly raced over the last year and has struggled a little since winning at Stratford back in March, before being pulled-up in the Grade 3 Betway Chase a month later at Aintree and unseating his rider last month. However the fourth place in a Class 3 at Kempton in November does offer encouragement. Drops a level for today and enjoys soft conditions, so has a chance, if he can avoid mistakes.

4: FIRST FLOW (3:30pm Leicester) (3 Votes)
Former Grade 2 novice winner back in 2018 and has shown similar abilities over fences so far this season with his last five chases resulting a record of 22132, including second in a Class 2 to Dolos at Sandown twelve days ago. Drops down a class for today’s outing and looks too strong for the rest and is a well backed odds-on favourite.

5: LUCKY’S DREAM (7:30pm Chelmsford) (3 Votes)
Completed a double at Newcastle last time out, to make it four wins from eight on the all-weather. Previous run saw a course and distance victory, making it three from five at the Essex venue and despite having a 5lbs penalty, still looks strong amongst a small field.
