All pricing correct as of 9:00am, 14th August, shorted priced runner, first.
(1) (1:45pm Pontefract) MR ORANGE was 7/1, now 9/4
Has won five times over C&D so far and had struggled with performances on return to action after a break, with a twelfth at Redcar (5f, good) and eighth at Hamilton (6f, soft). However a third over C&D on good to firm, last time out showed a return to more regular form, finishing 0.75 lengths adrift. Races off the same mark here and has strong claims today.
(2) (4:25pm Lingfield) RODRIGO DIAZ was 15/2, now 11/4
No real form in three runs on polytrack, with a best of eighth in a maiden at Windsor over a mile. Has been priced no better than a 100/1 in those races, but has been backed down for this handicap debut. Pedigree hints at better performances over the middle distances, so an extension to 1m 4f offers hope, with plenty of interest on the markets.
(3) (2:50pm Pontefract) EXCEPTIONAL was 11/1, now 9/2
Winner in two of five career starts, including over [C&D](https://gg.co.uk/racing/10-jun-2020/pontefract-1450 back in June (6f good). Impressed on last outing at Newmarket, when elevating to Class 2 and finishing second, just half a length behind the surprise 40/1 winner, Progressive Rating. She is untested on fast ground, but has attracted plenty of interest. Every chance, but needs to improve to potentially score here.
(4) (1:00pm Curragh) A CASE OF YOU was 33/1, now 10/1
Colt by Hot Streak, whose half-brother Loose Chippings won on the beach at Laytown. Looks a tough test for this John McConnell runner, but plenty of each-way backing overnight. Interesting runner, who could pick-up a place.
(5) (1:40pm Chester) THE FLYING GINGER was 20/1, now 12/1
This Roger Fell runner cost 65,000 euros as a 2yo and has a decent pedigree, with her dam winning between 7f-1m, and including a listed race, whilst closely related to High Court Drama too. Another who has probably attracted each-way backing, although with a six runne field, it may be a little too much to expect just yet.
