Today’s top selections from the press and media feature four runners from Newmarket, along with a stand out selection at Ripon, this evening. Check these out below, along with an excellent sign-up offer of Bet £5 – Get £20 In Free Bets with Skybet.
1: AL MUFFRIH (7:25pm Ripon) (6 Votes)
Two wins in eight starts, but has found it more challenging with extended trips since. Returned from eleven months away, when tenth in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot over 1m 3f, before reaffirming his capability over the distance, when third at York last time out, when taking an early lead, before being caught and finishing 2.5 lengths off the winner. Quick turnaround asks a question but can go very well this evening.

2: NUGGET (2:15 Newmarket) (4 Votes)
Just five races under his belt as a 3yo, but has been in fine form throughout, winning at Doncaster last month, before seconds at Newmarket and most recently at Windsor, just eleven days ago off the same mark. Has another opportunity to go close once again.

3: SPARKLING OLLY (1:40pm Newmarket) (3 Votes)
A couple of decent runs, were followed up with a victory at Chepstow last time out, seven days ago, running clear in the final furlong to beat Queen Of Silca by 2.5 lengths. Open to improvement and currently 3lbs below mark, so should justify favouritism.

4: GREY GALLEON (12:35pm Newmarket) (2 Votes)
Roger Teal has got the best out of him since switching from Charlie Cox’s yard, finishing second at Yarmouth and third at Chepstow, before taking the spoils at Bath, when an impressive 3.25 lengths clear on the return to 5f. Retains the visor worn then and despite a 7lb rise, looks very capable of making it a double today.

5: ZAP (1:10pm Newmarket) (2 Votes)
Without a victory since 2018 at Leopardstown, but has finally started to find some form, with his third in a Class 3 at Yarmouth at the end of last month, his best run for nearly a year. Runs of an encouraging mark and despite two strong market leading candidates, this Richard Fahey runner can at very least split them.
