1: JUST FRANK (1:45pm Doncaster) (3 votes)
Strong performances recently, winning at Thirsk (7f, good) last month, by 3.75 lengths, before stepping up to Class 2 level, for a competitive auction race at Newmarket (6f, soft) and taking the spoils by a comfortable 4.5 lengths and making all. Takes on listed company this afternoon, but that previous run, should serve him well, assuming he can repeat such a performance.

2: ONE RULER (2:55pm Doncaster) (3 Votes)
Winner of a Class 5 at Sandown (7f, good) in August, before stepping up to Group 3 level, when third at Doncaster (7f, good) last month, Improved still further, a fortnight ago, when taking the spoils among listed company at Newmarket (1m, soft), beating Van Gogh by 1.75 lengths. Faces a tough test, with Wembley the strong favourite, however he looks the main threat here and based on recent outings, can put in a decent bid for the win.

3: FLINCK (3:15pm Cheltenham) (3 Votes)
Decent performer, who won two soft ground handicaps, at the end of last year, including a Class 3 at Haydock (2m 2f, soft), when 3 lengths clear of Con Man. Impressed on seasonal return at Chepstow (2m 3f, good) in a Grade 3, when third and should strip fitter for that run. Extends to 2m 7f today, which shouldn’t be an issue, having done so on debut, two years ago. Should be in the mix, based on latest.

4: ALOUNAK (4:10pm Newbury) (3 Votes)
Former German runner, who looked impressive on second start for Andrew Baling, when a 40/1 second in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot (1m 3f, soft), finishing 2.5 lengths behind Fanny Logan. Has not had the best of form since then, but has not shirked a challenge in Group contests. A return to more positive ways looks likely here, with a decent, if beatable field, but may be one for each-way backing.

5: FRODON (3:50pm Cheltenham) (2 Votes)
Grade 1 winner and a victor on five occasions at Cheltenham. Won the Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton (2m 4f, good to soft) back in January, before ending the season with fourth in the Ryanair Chase (2m 4f, soft) at the Festival. Extension to 3m 1f isn’t out of the question, but tends to prefer the shorter trip. Expected to be in the mix at the business end of this race.
