1: HIGHWAYGREY (2:05pm Pontefract) (3 Votes)
Made it four wins this year, when, when beating Benadalid by a neck, over today’s C&D (1m 2f, good). Struggled on softer ground in latest couple of races, with the last of those, bringing a seventh at Haydock (1m 2f, soft) and finishing 6 lengths adrift. Conditions not ideal, but has the quality to take the win, with a battle against Victory Chime and Arctic Sound expected.

2: GALE FORCE MAYA (2:25 Newmarket) (3 Votes)
Picked up a hat-trick last Summer, Class 4 outings, and has progressed again this year, with a run of five places to date, including a couple of Class 2 contests, including the latest, when second to Last Surprise at Pontefract (6f, good) a week ago. Goes in as joint favourite with Betsy Trotter, with her opponent upping in class.

3: LA BARROSA (3:00pm Newmarket) (3 Votes)
Cost 750,000 guineas as a yearling and made a promising start to his career, when winning at Ascot (7f, good to soft), beating Derab by 1.25 lengths in a Class 3 race, twenty days ago. Step up to Group 3 level, shouldn’t be an issue and he goes in as favourite. William Buick rides this afternoon.

4: MAY NIGHT (5:30p, Kempton) (3 Votes)
Failed to make any significant impact across three runs, over 6f at Class 5 level, before taking the spoils, when dropping down a level, for a nursery here, over 7f (AW), taking the spoils by 2.75 lengths. Extends to a mile today, which having ran on well last time, doesn’t look to be an issue. Strong favourite to extend the run to successive wins here.

5: MISTER ALLEGRO (6:00pm Kempton) (3 Votes)
Some okay runs in four starts, before stepping up his performance and taking the spoils over C&D nine days ago, finishing a comfortable 4 lengths clear of the rest. Takes on stronger opposition this evening, but still looks well inside his mark, with the markets making him a clear favourite.
