1: DASHEL DRASHER (2:00pm Newbury) (4 votes)
Classy Jeremey Scott trained runner, who has nine wins in eighteen races, including the Grade 1 – Ascot Chase (2m 5f, soft) back in February, when beating Master Tommytucker by 2 lengths. He returned to action last month in the 1965 Chase,ágain at Ascot (2m 5f, good), finishing behind his rival and 12 lengths adrift of winner Lostintranslation. Expected to bounce back, after that run and faces stiff competition from Masters Legacy and Beauport.

2: SHARJAH (2:20pm Leopardstown) (3 votes)
Willie Mullins’s charge has eight wins in twenty-six appearances so far, with the latest coming in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown (2m, good to yielding), when beating Zanahiyr by 3 lengths, with stablemate Echoes In Rain a further 12 lengths adrift in a three runner contest. The three meet again here and the favourite has a huge chance to make it four wins in this race and emulate istabraq and Hurricane Fly.

3: SAINT PALAIS (2:35pm Newbury) (3 votes)
Placed in opening three contests, before picking up a maiden victory at Worcester (2m 7f, soft) in October, when 3.75 lengths ahead of Velasco, with a further 14 lengths to the rest. He then stepped up in level and made it a double at Wetherby (3m, good to soft), 25 days ago, when 3.75 lengths clear of Cobra De Mai. Contends with a 10lbs rise this afternoon but expected to be in the mix, battling Gericault Roque for the spoils.

4: FERN HILL (3:35pm Newbury) (3 votes)
Two wins in six starts, with those coming in a double at Wetherby (2m 3f – 2m 5f) at the end of 2020, both on soft ground. After being pulled-up at Doncaster back in January, he made a useful return at Uttoxeter (2m 4f, soft) three weeks ago, missing out by a neck to Come On Teddy on chase debut. Rise of just 1lb offers a big chance off the back of that run, in what looks to be a relatively competitive handicap.

5: KALOOKI (2:50pm Doncaster) (2 votes)
Three wins and four places in fourteen starts, with the last of those wins, coming at Newbury, back in November of 2020. He ended the season with a solid second, again at Newbury (2m 3f, good to soft) in a Class 2 contest, back in March, before returning for seasonal reappearance at the same venue, finishing seventh of thirteen and clearly needing the run. Improvement needed, but in the mix for the victory.
