1: LOVE IS GOLDEN (3:05pm Ascot) (4 votes)
Picked up a third win in ten starts, when winning at Chester (1m 4f, good to soft) a month ago, when half a length clear of Solent Gateway, before finishing second last time out at Hamilton (1m 4f, good) and 2.25 lengths behind Mahrajaan, a week ago. Due to rise 2lbs in the future and on current form, due a big run. Faces competition from My Frankel and Recovery Run.

2: MR ORANGE (7:00pm Pontefract) (3 votes)
8-yo with ten wins and ten places in his career, with the last victory coming over C&D thirteen months ago. Has struggled for form this season, but a fourth last time out, again at this venue offers hope, as does the fact he is 13lbs lower than that last victory. A dangerous mark here and could well feature on a course he enjoys.

3: GOLDEN APOLLO (2:20pm Haydock) (2 votes)
Five time winner, who has placed in three of the last five runs, including a second last time out in the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon three weeks ago, when 1.5 lengths behind Justanotherbottle. Long time since winning, but did take the spoils in the Ayr Silver Cup as couple of years ago, off of 2lbs higher. Expected to challenge for the spoils

4: BRAZEN BOLT (3:20pm Newcastle) (2 votes)
Had several place runs, before taking a maiden victory a the ninth time of asking, when winning over C&D last time out, a fortnight ago, finishing 2.5 lengths clear of Twisted Dreams. Comes in 6lbs higher but another strong run is expected for this clear market leader.
(The Sun, Templegate. Racing Post, Spotlight)
5: DANCINGINTHEWOODS (4:10pm Ascot) (2 votes)
Useful performer, who picked up a third career win at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) in the penultimate start, beating the very talented Mr Wagyu by a neck. Placed third last time out at the same venue, missing out on second in the final few strides, but more than respectable there. First time headgear poses a concern, but assuming that isn’t a factor, Dean Ivory’s runner will be in the mix.
