1: THEMAXWECAN (4:05pm Goodwood) (6 votes)
Five career wins, including this very contest two years ago, when 2lbs higher. The last victory came at Musselburgh (1m 5f, good) back in April in a Class 2 contest, when narrowly beating Cardano. Has struggled a little since with record of 300087, although he did look somewhat competitive at York last time out, when seventh of fourteen and 4 lengths behind Arcadian Sunrise. Lesser test today and cheekpieces are retained. Capable of bouncing back to winning ways here.

2: KING’S CASTLE (1:50pm Goodwood) (3 votes)
One win in thirteen and nothing too exciting to write home about since, although the latest, a second at Epsom (1m 4f, good to firm), saw them finish 0.75 lengths to Hey Teacher, a week ago. Currently 0-8 for Joseph Tuite so far, but this looks a decent opportunity to change that, off the same mark. As connections look to make something happen, before Saturday’s weight rise. Rhys Clutterback continues onboard and claims 5lbs also.

3: ADAAY IN ASIA (3:30pm Goodwood) (2 votes)
Three wins in six starts, including a double over the last couple of runs, firstly winning at Lingfield (6f, a/w) at the turn of last month and then following up with another victory, a fortnight later at Leicester (6f good to firm), beating Favourite Child by a neck. 5lbs rise on nursery debut adds an extra layer of difficulty here, but expect Harry Dunlop’s charge to feature once again.

4: SEPTEMBER POWER (4:40pm Catterick) (2 votes)
Was a four race maiden, who has won twice and placed in three subsequent starts since. The first of those wins, came back in August of 2020, when taking the spoils at Lingfield (1m 4f, a/w). She returned from a nine month absence at Wetherby (1m 6f, good to firm) to take the spoils , beating Pepper Street by half a length. 3lbs higher today, but with Roger Varian in good form, it’s no surprise to see her as market leader.

5: SMOKEY MALONE (7:15pm Windsor) (1 votes)
Two wins in fourteen, with the last of those at Nottingham (1m 2f, good to firm), when 0.75m lengths clear of Boy George. Has since placed 326, with the run at Yarmouth, last time out especially disappointing. Capable of a marked improvement here, but each-way claims look the best way forward.
