1: CHIL CHIL (1:50pm Ascot) (4 Votes)
Fine form last season, winning three of the last four starts last year, including a Class 2 at Newmarket last September. Returned from a long break, when second to Motagally at Bath seventeen days ago and looks to have a big chance to grab another victory this afternoon. Backed in to clear leader on the market.

2: DUBAI FOUNTAIN (3:20pm Newmarket) (4 Votes)
One of the main contenders for this Sweet Solera Stakes. Lead all the way Class 5 victories at Doncaster and Haydock, before missing out on the hat-trick by a length to Fev Rover in a listed race at Sandow eighteen days ago. Front running style should fit here, while Mark Johnston has a strong record in this race.

3: SHELIR (2:25pm Ascot) (3 Votes)
Won opening two starts for Dermot Weld, including the Tetrarch Stakes, but has not been able to find that form since, including four runs for new trainer, David O’Meara. Latest was an eighth in a Class 2 at Ascot, when finishing 4 lengths off the winner, although he was hampered on the run in. Needs to improve, but has the opportunity in an open race.
(The i, Jon Freeman. Sky Sports Racing, Alex Hammond. Ipswich Star, Matt Polley)
4: ZAAKI (2:40pm Haydock) (3 Votes)
Won two Group 2 races, including the Strensall Stakes at York back in August, before a third in a Group, a month later. Returned to action with a third in a Group 3 at Newbury, before the most recent run, brought them a sixth place in the Summer Mile at Ascot, which could have bee better, when denied a run and having to switch across. Global Giant is the clear favourite for this race, but Ryan Moore’s ride offers the biggest threat of the field.
(Daily Express, The Scout. Yorkshire Post, The Duke. Racing Post, The Punt)
5: CARADOC (3:35pm Ascot) (2 Votes)
Won three times last year, including a Class 2 at Newbury last September (1m 2f, good to firm). After an extended break, he returned with a sixth at Epsom last month, before a disappointing ninth at York a fortnight later, when looking one paced. Usually needs a run or two to get back to full sharpness, so should improve here, but minor concerns from that last run., yet market confidence is high.
