Today’s five meetings have given tipsters a bit of a headache, with relatively few standout runners. A couple this evening at Chelmsford catch the eye, along with an early runner at Newcastle too. So check out the days top five most popular newspaper tips below, along with the best odds available.
1: Starplex (12:40pm Newcastle) (2 Votes)
Been in excess of eighteen months since their last victory, but has started to find some form since returning to the Keith Dalgleish yard, finishing second at Musselburgh, before a second at Sedgefield last month, in their most recent trip. Has a course and distance win here, which offers more encouragement and looks to have too much for the majority of the field if running to expectation

2: Darling Alko (3:00pm Warwick) (2 Votes)
Grabbed maiden victory on chase debut at Ludlow, when main rivals both fell four out, leading to a slightly misleading twenty-two length victory margin. A 7lb rise is a minor cause for concern, but with similar conditions and another 2m trip here, another victory would not surprise at all.
(Oxford Mail, Mark Edwards. Sunday Mail, Rockavon)
3: Falcon Cliffs (4:35pm Wolverhampton) (2 Votes)
Been very close since winning on debut back in February 2017 and finally grabbed a second career victory, with the win at Chelmsford over 1m 5f, by a two and a half length margin. A 5lb increase should not be an issue, while the extended trip of 2m is well within her wheelhouse. Hollie Doyle is onboard for the first time today.

4: Librisa Breeze (5:20pm Chelmsford) (2 Votes)
Been just over two years since the Group 1: Champion Sprint Stakes win at Ascot, with indifferent form since then. In August, they did finish second in the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury, proving there is still some fire in the seven year old. A return to handicap level may help, but they must pick up their form to have a real chance. Each-way claims look more likely.
(Wolverhampton Express & Star, Andrew Bladen. Racing Post, The Punt)
5: Spirit Of May (5:50pm Chelmsford) (2 Votes)
Three wins so far this year, with two of those over course and distance, including last time out at the end of October. Both victories here have come from stall nine, so the draw at ten shouldn’t faze them too much in fairness. Goes up 3lb, but on track form, looks to be a real threat to favourite, Revolutionise.
