Today’s top selections from the press and media feature four runners at Lingfield, with a single pick from Catterick making up the day’s quintet. So check out the top five most popular newspaper tips below, along with the best odds available.
1: DARK VADER (4:00pm Lingfield) (10 Votes)
Three successive runs at Dundalk brought victory in November, before a fourth placed finish a month later, however it was his most recent performance that caught the eye, when leading all the way over 6f to back up the strong odds on price last month. Handicap debut today, so a sterner test is expected, so it will be interesting to see how (if at all) tactics adjust against favourite Auchterarder.

2: VISIBIITY (2:30pm Lingfield) (3 Votes)
Returned from a four month break, when a disappointing fourth over course and distance despite being favourite, finishing a length and a half behind race rival Goddess Of Fire. Kept on well before fading and is expected to fair better off the back of that return run.

3: PALAVECINO (3:00pm Lingfield) (3 Votes)
Made winning debut at Ffos Las back in August 2018 and picked up a fourth a month later. Disappeared for seventeen months and had been gelded, before returning to action when second at Newcastle in a Class 5 outing over 1m 2f. Should improve further off the back of that run, while a rise in class is unlikely to be a major issue.

4: ASHUTOR (3:15pm Catterick) (3 Votes)
Strong favourite for this maiden hurdle, having finished second on four occasions so far, although did win a flat event in France. Beaten by a neck in last outing at Taunton by War Lord and looks too strong for the competition today.

5: COME ON BEAR (5:00pm Lingfield) (3 Votes)
Winner of last two races, including when overcoming a slow start at Wolverhampton in a Class 6 apprentice race, before picking up a second successive win at Chelmsford last time out with a little bit in hand (both over 7f). Rises 4lbs which should not pose too much of an issue and has a favourable inside draw.
