Today’s top five selections feature a duo of runners from Hexham and from Leicester this afternoon, along with a later runner at Kempton, which is our top selection across the days cards. So check out the days top five most popular newspaper tips below, along with the best odds available.
1: Astromachia (6:40pm Kempton) (4 Votes)
Currently three from three over 2m and has won twice over course and distance, with the last some three weeks ago, winning a three length margin. Has raced just twice this year so far, so should have plenty of energy and despite going up 6lbs, looks to be the one to beat here.

2: Champagne Chaser (12:20pm Hexham) (3 Votes)
Won for the first time since a course and distance win in 2017, picking up victory at Cartmel in June on soft ground. Was in a great position last time out, leading over the final flight before unseating his rider, however despite that error, if they can repeat the same energy here, will be hard to beat.

3: Casimir Du Clos (1:50pm Hexham) (2 Votes)
Has a good record over fences so far, winning two of four starts, including a 1m 7f win at this venue back in October. Won last time out at this distance in a hurdle race and looks to have more in the tank, even with a 9lb rise. Handicapper may look to have been a little harsh, but on current form, can easily overcome both the increase and the field for another win.

4: Coolanly (2:00pm Leicester) (3 Votes)
Winner of the Ballymore Novices Hurdle a year ago at Cheltenham, but didn’t quite kick on as intended in following handicap hurdle races. Switched to fences last time out at Exeter and duly delivered an impressive performance when finishing second to Esprit Du Large, who won a Grade 1 novice race last weekend. Expected to improve further considering they have had the one run over fences and looks a strong selection here.

5: Boldmere (2:30pm Leicester) (2 Votes)
A bit of an outside hopeful here, hoping to transfer hurdles form to fences. A win at Market Rasen put them under the spotlight, thanks to a start to finish victory, however its not been plain sailing since. The switch to fences has not gone well, having been pulled-up last time out, with a few problems jumping and hanging left too. It’s hoped that this was a one off, but must improve concentration. Has an each-way shout at best.
