1: ONE RULER (4:05pm Ascot) (4 votes)

Both wins came earlier in his career, which included the Group 3 – Autumn Stakes at Newmarket, back in October 2020. Had started to show more consistency last Summer, placing third in the Prix Arqana at Deauville and most recently, placed third of thirteen in the Group 2 – Zabeel Mile at Meydan (1m, good) in January, 2.75 lengths behind Real World. Returns to 7f for handicap debut and has strong claims here.

2: WALK OF STARS (2:40pm Lingfield) (3 votes)

Another Goodolphin runner, with this colt winning at Nottingham (1m, soft) back in October, before returning from a 165 day break to make it a double at Newbury (1m 2f, good) in a Class 3 contest, finishing a neck clear of Hafit three weeks ago. Odds on favourite and can clearly justify that, this afternoon.

3: ZIGGY (1;45pm Ascot) (2 votes)

Showed improvement last Summer, before finally grabbing a maiden win at Nottingham (1m 2f, good) in July, when easing to a 6 length victory. Harry Eustace’s charge placed second at Sandown (1m 2f, soft) in September, before finishing a creditable sixth of thirteen at York in a Class 2 contest the following month. Will appreciate the drop back in level and firmer ground, but maybe worth each-way backing at best.

4: ANNA BUNINA (3:00pm Haydock) (2 votes)

Seven wins and five runner-up spots for this consistent John McConnell runner, who won the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr (2m, good to soft) last month, beating West Cork by a length, who reopposes once again. Mark McDonagh’s 5lbs claim puts him effectively on the same mark as that win and another strong performance is expected.

5: SYMPHONY PERFECT (3:50pm Lingfield) (2 votes)

Richard Hannon’s runner picked up two wins and three places last season, including the Listed – Bosra Sham Fillies Stakes at Newmarket, back in October. After returning to action with a creditable fifth at Newbury, this filly claimed a second at Chelmsford (6f, a/w) nine days ago, when just a length behind Tippy Toes. Very much in the mix here, although may find it tough to beat She Do.
