James Fanshawe’s runner has improved in all three starts, culminating in a maiden victory in his latest, here over C&D, some twenty-six days ago, when 2.25 lengths ahead of Gabriella’s Spirit on good to firm ground. On a good mark and clearly the one to beat according to the markets, with most bookmakers having him odds on.

2. SWEET REWARD (3:35pm Sandown) (3 votes)

Four wins in twenty-five starts, with the last of those coming back in September, however he has looked impressive so far this term, always looking as though he can make the breakthrough. His latest, saw him second of fifteen in a Class 2, over C&D some nineteen days ago and with the drop in level this time, looks to have big claims and goes in as the one to beat.

3. ACHNAMARA (7:55pm Doncaster) (3 votes)

Showed good from a couple of months back, when taking the spoils at Beverley (1m 4f, good to firm), beating Noonie by 3.25 lengths, before following up with a second here at Doncaster (1m 6f, good) last month, by just half a length to Salvator Mundi. Has since struggled in two strong 3-yo contests at Ascot and Haydock, but a return to calmer waters is expected to see a welcome return to form this evening.

4. DANCE IN THE GRASS (2:25pm Sandown) (2 votes)

Made the perfect start here over C&D last month, when beating One Nation by 2 lengths, in a Class 4 – Maiden contest some forty-one days ago, Is bred for middle-distances but that performance has clearly shown Charlie & Mark Johnston is more than capable in this range and even with an up in grade, this filly could well add to that strong opening run.

5. GYPSY WHISPER (6:55pm Doncaster) (2 votes)

Has looked very impressive in two runs here, firstly placing second over 7f (good), when half a length behind Alethiometer three weeks ago, before stepping up to today’s C&D (good to firm) and taking the spoils, five days ago, beating Kiritimati Island by 3 lengths. 5lbs penalty to contend with today, but this mare still has plenty in reserve.
