The opening race of the six, is a 1m 7f Hurdle with eleven runners taking part. Now Children is the GG selection for the race. After a Class 2 win at Goodwood a year ago, they struggled for form with a 15th and 6th place, with the last trip back in May. A switch to hurdles looks a prudent idea and in a fairly average field, surely have the ability to cap off the debut with a victory.
The next race is a 2m 3f Novices Chase, with sixteen runners involved. Snowy Oscar is the next GG selection and they made their seasonal debut with a third over course and distance in a Hurdle race. This was his first run since a wind op and if they continue to improve, they will be in with a shout.
The midway point of the Jackpot brings a 1m 7f trip, as thirteen runners take on this Class 3 Handicap Hurdle. The GG pick here is outsider Get Back Get Back who has found a little form in recent outings, finishing second over course and distance at the beginning of October, before a third, two weeks later at the same venue. Previous flat form has helped with a decent handicap and they have a decent chance of gatecrashing the leading lights in the market.
Sebastopol is the one to beat and clear favourite here, with the rest some 7/1 bar.
Race four is 2m 7f and plays host to just six runners, with Fr Humphrey the GG choice here in what looks to be a competitive race. Won at Fontwell back in August and then beaten by a nose by race rival Vendredi Trois at Kempton last month over three miles. Gains a pound this time around and another close race is expected.
The penultimate race is a 2m 4f Handicap Hurdle, with this Division 1 outing bringing eleven into the mix. Splash The Cash is the next GG choice, with the maiden looking to bag a win at the tenth time of asking. Form has been decent, with places at the back end of last season, while a seasonal debut saw her finish sixth at Southwell in a very much needed run.
The final leg of this Jackpot is another 2m 4f race, with this Class 5, Division 2 race, hosting ten runners. Diamond Rose is the final selection here and won on her second Handicap race, when a 40/1 shot at Ludlow back in May. Followed that with victory at Market Rasen two months later and then a third last time out. Returns from a four month break, so may need the run, but has a strong chance.
