The opening race is the first of three successive seven furlong sprints, with this a Class 5 Novices contest. OR and RPR leader Alix James is the first GG choice and comes in good form, having picked up four places in six career starts, including a third last time out in a Class 2 at Chester on soft ground.

Le Chiffre is favourite and has picked up a fourth over course and distance, along with a second at Thirsk last time out. This looks to be a two horse race, although Hua Mulan looks the best of the rest.

GG Selection - ALIX JAMES

This seven furlong trip is a Class 6, Division 1 race, with twelve runners.Forever A Lady is the narrow favourite and GG pick here, having returned to form after a brief dip. A third at Hamilton, was followed by a second at Ayr last time out, with both performances on soft ground too.

Midnight In Havana is a major threat, having picked up some solid performances in higher level trips, while the very useful Roaring Forties will be happy to return to this level, having won their last Class 6 outing at Ayr back in July.

The last of the seven furlong contests, is a Class 6, Division 2 race, with ten runners taking part. The GG choice is favourite and OR leader Dreamseller who since winning at Wolves, has finished third and eleventh at the higher level, so a return to Class 6 will enhance their hopes.

Leeshan and Be Bold look to be the main contenders here, with the former picking up a third place last time out at Ayr, while the latter also finished third at the same meeting, with both proving themselves on soft ground. This could be a very close run race overall.

Race four of this Jackpot is a five furlong charge, with eleven runners taking part in this contest. The GG choice here is Popping Corks, who won at Hamilton recently, and followed that up with a fourth in a Class 5. at the same track, on soft and heavy ground respectively.

Quanah is the main danger here and comes in off the back of a win at Hamilton in heavy conditions, while Burmese Blazer has potential to win here, but needs to find consistency

The penultimate race is a mile and seven stayers race, with Normal Norman the GG selection here in this Class 5 contest. A win back in January in a Class 2 Hurdle over course and distance offers plenty of promise here, despite some struggles since, but if they can handle the soft ground, they should be challenging for the win.

Beechwood Jude is a big threat and drops down a level for this race, while Shrewd and Arthur’s Secret also should be respected.

The final leg is a mile contest at Class 4 level, with thirteen runners. Be Kool is the final GG selection here and despite being some generous odds, they did win well at Redcar last time out.

Greek Hero and Al Erayg are both dangerous rivals here, while Ghalib will embrace conditions, especially if they worsen.

GG Selection - BE KOOL
