Race 1 (1:45pm) DEVIOUS ANGEL

Disappointing debut at Newmarket (5f, good), when seventh of twelve runners, last month, weakening in the closing stages, before stepping up to take the victory at Southwell (4f, a/w) nine days ago, when winning by 5.5 lengths. More is expected, but needs to show more on turf today.

Race 2 (2:15pm) DARLECTABLE YOU

Debuted second at Newcastle (1m 2f, a/w) back in December, when 1.5 lengths behind Castlebar, before returning to finish second once again, this time at Newbury (1m 2f, good), three weeks ago, after a long break. This sister to Lah Ti Dar and Too Darn Hot surely has more to come for John Gosden and today could see that bare fruit

Race 3 (2:45pm) SHOWALONG

Two wins in five races, including in his penultimate start at York (5f, soft) last October, when 1.5 lengths clear of Shalaa Asker. Made seasonal return at Thirsk (5f, good to firm), when third eighteen days ago and should strip fitter for that outing. Major contender for the spoils here.

Race 4 (3:15pm) LAW OF THE SEA

Two wins in three starts and sealing a double last time out at Leicester (1m 3f, good to firm) in a Class 4 contest, beating Gustav Holst by 4 lengths. This is a big step up and others do have better form comparatively, but this Gosden runner won’t be here to just make up the numbers.

Race 5 (3:45pm) UNCLE JUMBO

Winner on debut at Doncaster (6f, good) last June, but has failed to add to that since, despite some useful performances overall. A fourth last time out at Pontefract (6f, good to firm) on handicap debut offers encouragement here, especially having met trouble during that contest. Comes in off the same mark and providing he can avoid issues, should feature heavily today.

Race 6 (4:15pm) IMMELMANN

Useful third on debut at Nottingham (1m 2f, good to firm) and finishing 1.5 lengths adrift of the winner, Third Realm. This brother to Group 1 winner, Iquitos should build upon that run seventeen days ago and is likely to feature in ths contest.
