Race 1 (1:00pm) LILA GIRL
Debutant for Michael Bell, costing 54,000 Euros as a yearling. This Pride Of Dubai filly, out of The Shrew. She is a half-sister to 6f winner Caitie and 1m/1m 2ff winner Petruchio. Trainer tends to ready his new runners well and with Andrea Atzeni onboard, has solid chances in over this 7f trip.
Race 2 (1:30pm) SOUND ANGELA
Another debutant, this time for Roger Varian. This Muhaarar filly, out of Insistence cost just £26,000 as a yearling and is a half-sister to two winners, in Betty F (7f) and American winner, Cedar’s Stars (1m 3f). Trainer is has 3 winners from thirteen 2-yo newcomer starts in the last four weeks and there is little to suggest, that this filly couldn’t add to that here, with Jefferson Smith onboard.
Race 3 (2:05pm) MY PROSPERO
The debutants continue, into our third selection, with this Willie Haggas runner, who is an Iffraaj colt, out of My Titania. Sire is a half-brother to the very useful My Oberon, a winner over 1m/1m 1f, along with 1m winner, My Astra. Strong pedigree behind him here and with Tom Marquand onboard, should have strong claims here.
Race 4 (2:40pm) DELPHINUS
Decent team Gosden runner, with this Sea The Stars filly, costing 260,000 gns. She needs to start showing a little more, having improved off a debut fifth at Yarmouth back in August, to finish fourth last time out at Newmarket (1m, good) a month ago, when 2.75 lengths adrift of Mellow Yellow. More is expected, now up in trip to 1m 2f, while cheekpieces are also fitted. Keiran Shoemark rides for the first time in this contest.
Race 5 (3:15pm) HIGH FIBRE
Useful performer, who placed third in the penultimate start, at Redcar (7f, good to firm), missing out by half a length to Uncs in that contest back in July. Retuned from a break to place a creditable sixth at fourteen in a Class 2 nursery contest at York (7f, good to soft) eleven days ago and is expected to go closer this time around, with the step up to 1m 2f. Rob Hornby returns to the saddle for this contest.
Race 6 (3:50pm) FARHH TO SHY
George Margarsonh trained filly, who picked up a second career win at Yarmouth (7f, good), back in August, beating Sir Benedict by 1.25 lengths. After a somewhat disappointing fourth at the same venue, she stepped up to Class 3 level and was just beaten by a short-head to Canoodled at Newmarket (7f, good to soft). Up 2lbs and extended to the mile for this contest and should be in amongst the leaders as they head into the closing stages.
