Race 1 (1:15pm) BICKERSTAFFE

Two wins in three starts, including the latest at Pontefract (6f, good to firm) a month ago, when beting Popmaster by a neck. Arguably looks ore suited to slower ground, so it will be interesting to see how she handles the downhill section of the track, but in good form and has more to come, even with an extra 6lbs.

Race 2 (1:50pm) BRIGHT MELODY

Picked up a second career win, last time out at Meydan (1m 1f, good) back in February, when 1.75 lengths clear of Dubai Mirage. Rises in the weights but that looks unlikely to stop his progress in this contest, with Bell Rock and Maydanny the main threats to his hopes of making it a double. Every chance here.

Race 3 (2:25pm) CAME FROM THE DARK

Solid performer, with four wins and five places in seventeen starts, including the victory last time out at Newbury (5f, good) a fortnight ago, when a neck ahead of Garrus in a Class 2 contest. Garrus arrives on better terms this time around, but Ed Walker’s charge looks capable of more in this contest and won’t easily be beaten, while Lazuli look the biggest threat in this contest

Race 4 (3:00pm) SIR RON PRIESTLEY

Six victories in ten starts, including wins at Ascot and Goodwood in Class 2 contests back in 2019 1m 3f – 1m 6f, both good ground. He returned from a seventeen month absence earlier last month, taking the spoils at Nottingham (1m 6f, good to firm) in the listed, Further Flight Stakes, beating Ocean Wind by 1.5 lengths and looked in fine shape, despite the long time away. Pyledriver and Al Zaraqaan will have something to say in this contest, but Mark Johnston’s runner can continue his form with a double in this contest.

Race 5 (3:40pm) THUNDER MOON

Finished behind Wembley in the Dewhurst Stakes, but prior to that, he had got the better of his rival at Curragh (7f) in the Vincent O’Brien National Stakes on Good ground, finishing 1.5 lengths clear. The extra furlong and favourable ground today should give him the optimum chance here and see him go close in the day’s big race.

Race 6 (4150pm) GREAT AMBASSADOR

He was unlucky back in October, when second to Light And Dark by 0.75 lengths at Kempton (7f, a.w) in a Class 3 contest, but returned to action in style at the same venue in March, when taking the spoils in a Class 2 contest over 6f, when beating Barbill by 2.25 lengths on his first run for Ed Walker. He should be able to cope with the 7lbs rise and offers a solid challenge in this competitive contest
